Identify the "DOMAIN"
Describe the area of your world that this "GAME" encompasses.? For example: If your game is losing weight, the "DOMAIN" might be Health & Fitness. If your "GAME" is buying a home, your "DOMAIN" might be
investments & finances. etc. Or the name of your "Game" for getting fit, might be "Hello Gorgeous" !
Establish your "GAME"
What are you up to? What project would light you up? What unfinished business is hanging you up? What would make a difference in your life? What have you always wanted to do? What would make you proud if you could say..."I did that !" ?
State your "INTENTION"
What is your purpose in establishing this game? What excites you about it? Why is it important to you? Why is this is important. The "why" is what will keep you in the game long after the fun fades. The "why" is your endurance card that keeps the ball rolling. The light at the end of the tunnel.
Declare the "OUTCOME":
What do you wish to accomplish by finishing this goal. Free up time to be with family? Space for your car in the garage? Fit into your thin clothes? Get a little more detailed by writing how it will make you feel. What will your life look like at completion?
Establish the "MEASURES"
How will you determine whether you are winning your game? By what measures? If you are in a referral business it may be the number of calls you make a day, week ,month or number of presentations vs enrollments. If you are losing weight, it may be the # of minutes exercising each day and consistency of days as well as actually measuring or weighing.
What are the "PRACTICES":
Here you want to go into as much detail as possible. the more you visualize how you are going to accomplish your "GAME" the more you are likely to execute it. Establish when, where, how much, how long, how many, and what's needed. In other words, how it all gets done.
Determine "TIMELINE"
Determine WHEN you would like to achieve your goal. Be realistic. It would not be very realistic to say you want to exercise and lose 100 lbs by next week. Making your goals realistic and attainable is all part of being able to follow through. At the same time do not make them so easy that they do not challenge you, or you will not be inspired by the accomplishment. Start with the end in mind, visualizing the completion, then work backwards to fill in the practices needed to accomplish the goal.
Set the "MILESTONES":
One of the best hedges against discouragement is to establish "MILESTONES". These bite size accomplishments will serve as stepping stones to pull you closer to your goal. Just like the practices, get specific with your milestones. Establish as many "MILESTONES" as possible. The more frequent the victory, the more strength of conviction to proceed becomes.
"REWARD" for Reaching Milestones
These are small rewards for accomplishments create a light as you go through the tunnel of adversity. Make these rewards attractive but not so sweet as to relax half way through your journey.
"FINAL GOAL REWARD"
This should reward should knock your socks off, light you up, and kick you alive !! Make it Soooooo Sweet and do not cave and give it to yourself without achieving you re ultimate "GOAL". Make it painful to lose.
NOW... VISUALIZE!
Picture already achieving this goal. Get present to the accomplishment. Breathe deep and experience being at the finish line of your desire. What does achieving this look like?
- Describe what you see.
- What does it feel like? (physically and emotionally)
- What are you thinking about now that you have achieved this goal?
- Where do you see yourself?
- Who is around you?
- What are they doing?
- What are they saying?
- What music is playing?
- What fragrance is in the air?
- Who is looking at you?
Use as much detail as you can. It is in the detail that our plans become reality. Now, look at what you wrote, close your eyes and VISUALIZE it as though it has already occurred.
Use pictures, in your mind, and physically. I recommend that you make a collage.
